Cripping ethnography brings together disabled, mad, d/Deaf, chronically ill, neurodivergent researchers and scholars within and beyond Circle U to explore how ethnography might be done otherwise.

Inspired by Patchwork Ethnography, Labs for Liberation, Disability Archives Lab, Sins Invalid and many more scholars, artists and activists within and beyond educational institutions, we seek to collectively explore and advance inclusive, multimodal and experimental ethnographic research methodologies. Through a series of formats and events, including a reading group, a series of hybrid public talks and a workshop, we aim to build a community of scholars and students who engage with research through innovative and anti-ableist approaches.Â
